Lyric has been going to Disney World since she was still in the womb! Her dad, Aaron Stratton, has been singing and performing around all four parks for nearly 30 years! Seeing him perform never gets old, and inspires her to continue following her passion.
Her favorite park right now is Epcot, however Magic Kingdom will forever hold a special place in her heart. She cries at every fireworks show, loves anything that has to do with Elsa, and frequently walks around the parks with her mom for exercise.
p.s. the best Disney snack is definitely the hand-dipped corndogs in sleepy hollow!
Lyric has a cat named Fleep, who she is absolutely obsessed with! He’s about four years old and the sweetest, most interesting cat there is!
Lyric’s third passion, aside from performing and cooking, is sewing. To this day, the greatest gift she’s ever received was her sewing machine. She’s best at “thrift-flipping”, meaning she buys items and transforms them into something new! Lyric has worked both costumes and wigs in past productions, and plans to build up a costuming resume of her own in the future.
Her home away from home is the beach, preferably the east coast - the waves are awesome! She absolutely thrives in the sunlight.
Lyric meditates every morning to start each day off with a clear mind and set intentions. She loves to do yoga, and hopes to one day get her certificate to teach it!
Her favorite color is pink, she’s extremely outgoing, and will talk your ear off if you let her!
About
Lyric was born and raised in Clermont, Florida, by two of the most incredibly supportive parents in the world. She began dancing at the age of four, and by six, she landed her first role in her first show - Mowgli in Jungle Book Jr. She continued to play little boys for the next five years, but that didn't stop her love of performance from growing.
It wasn’t until the pandemic hit, when theaters shut, dance classes were on zoom, and shows all postponed, that Lyric realized musical theatre was something she could never live without. Throughout high school, Lyric had so much fun discovering herself through theatre. Her senior year, she won an Applause Award for Outstanding Lead - this was the first time that she truly believed that she could do this.
Lyric was accepted into the BFA Musical Theatre and Dance Minor Programs at the University of Central Florida, where she is continuing her education. She will be finishing up her third year and can’t wait to graduate next spring!
While in college, Lyric has built various amazing relationships around the Orlando area through the various opportunities she has been granted. She has worked mostly at Titusville Playhouse and the Dr Phillips Center. When she isn’t performing over the summer, she typically goes home to her dance studio, teaching music to the children at summer camps.
She hopes to continue to thrive in all areas of her life, including performance, relationships, spirituality, and her many hobbies. She is so excited to find her way!
Her Many hobbies!
Lyric is extremely passionate about eating, making, and sharing food. Cooking has always been her favorite way to relax herself while continuing to enrich her mind and nourish her body. Even as a little girl, she only watched cooking shows and only read recipe books.
Lyric loves to throw dinner parties for her family and friends, host Friendsgiving for her cohort, and try new recipes with her partner. If it can be made from scratch - it will be!
She prioritizes a whole food diet, but never restricts herself from enjoying anything her body is craving! Food is such a beautiful way to connect with people, and is definitely a talent Lyric was blessed with. Her favorite recipe right now is her homemade sweet potato gnocchi with roasted garlic and sage.
